Membrane Nitrogen.GENERONTM Hollow Fiber Membranes

The IGS Group is one of the world's major manufacturers of hollow fiber membrane modules for compressed air dehydration and the production of nitrogen.

Our GENERONTM modules are the result of an extensive effort in R&D and set new market standards in terms of both performance and efficiciency.

The hollow fiber membranes separate gases by the principle of selective permeation across the membrane wall. The rate of permeation of each gas is determined by its solubility in the membrane material and the rate of diffusion through the molecular free volume in the membrane wall. These variable permeation rates allow "fast" gases, such as water vapor and oxygen to be separated from "slow" gases such as nitrogen. Thousands of these hollow fiber membranes are packed together in so-called membrane bundles.

The compressed air will be filtered before entering the membrane bundle. An adequate air filtration is necessary for a reduction of moisture, particulates, oil and eventual other hydrocarbons from the compressed air in order to avoid "plugging" of the porous membrane wall.
